The CARITAS Furniture Bank is a placement site for AmeriCorps Volunteers through a grant that was awarded to Embrace Richmond. These member positions are vital to the collection and distribution of household goods and furniture as well as managing client relations, volunteer projects and our transitional employment program.
AmeriCorps is the national service movement that engages Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service to address the most critical problems in our nation's communities in the areas of education, public safety, the environment, and other human needs. In exchange for a specified term of service, AmeriCorps members earn an education award to pay back qualified student loans or to finance college, graduate school, or vocational training.
There is no better way to get the year off to a successful start by having all AmeriCorps programs participate in the Drive to End Hunger statewide food drive to be held on September 9 and 10 2011 in recognition of the National Day of Service and Remembrance on September 11. Download Flyer
Items donated to the CARITAS Furniture Bank will be given to clients and used to further the mission of CARITAS.
