Sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles, candy cane reindeer and a room filled with all the traditional signs of Christmas including a tree with a shining star, could not compare to the smiles shared by the families enjoying a moment of holiday cheer. Harris Williams & Company a national investment bank and Family Focus a 60 day program that provides intensive case management and support services for Families of various compositions donated all or in part, staff, gifts and money, to make this special time a reality at the CARITAS Shelter day site. “Every year we try to do something as an organization to help, and this year we voted on CARITAS,” said Stevie Toepke, of Harris Williams & Company. One could hardly hear the classic “Christmas Song” song by Nat King Cole or the up beat Jackson 5 tune of “Santa Claus is Coming To Town,” because of the chatter and laughter of the guests. In a few hours, the families along with their children would be heading back to a shelter, but for now it was time to take in the spirit of the season with a caring staff and other families. After grace was said, the food was eaten, and gifts were given, it was clear from the looks on the faces, Christmas had truly come.
