The work of CARITAS is incomplete without the context of all the organizations and individuals who come together to provide shelter, donate space, volunteer time, and make connections which help move people from need for shelter to a stable life.

AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is a national service movement that engages Americans of all ages and backgrounds in service to address the most critical problems in our nation’s communities in the areas of education, public safety, the environment, and other human needs. In exchange for a specified term of service, AmeriCorps members earn a living allowance as well as an educational award to pay back qualified student loans or to finance college, graduate school or vocational training.
Members enrolled in our program provide essential furniture and household items for adults and families moving from shelter to permanent housing and provide an intensive job-readiness program that will assist men with obtaining employment. Both services are provided at the CARITAS warehouse facility located at 1125 East Commerce Road.
